Former FBI Senior Executive brings extensive investigative and risk management expertise to Forensic, Litigation and Valuation practice

PKF O’Connor Davies, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax and advisory practices, today announced that it has hired Darryl Wegner as Managing Director in its Forensic, Litigation and Valuation practice. Wegner joins the organization with over two decades of experience leading complex investigations, developing and managing multidisciplinary teams and partnering with domestic and international law enforcement and regulatory agencies during his service as a Senior Executive with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“Darryl’s exceptional background as a special agent investigating white-collar crime, including economic crimes, fraud, money laundering and public corruption as well as his proven track record of protecting both public and private interests from criminal, financial and national security risks make him an outstanding addition to our team,” said Elisabeth O. da Silva, Partner at PKF O’Connor Davies. “His unique expertise in fraud detection, forensic accounting, data analytics, interviewing techniques and multijurisdictional investigations will enhance our ability to serve clients facing complex regulatory and compliance challenges.”

During his tenure with the FBI, Wegner held several key roles, including leading economic crime investigations in New England and directing all white-collar crime, fraud, money laundering and public corruption investigations in Southeast Texas as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Houston Field Office. He also led the office’s Forensic Accounting Program. At the FBI’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, Wegner served as the national leader of the FBI’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Kleptocracy and Criminal Antitrust programs. In Wegner’s most recent role, he led a multidisciplinary team implementing science-based interviewing techniques for domestic and international law enforcement and for the U.S. Intelligence Community.

“I’m excited to begin this new chapter with PKF O’Connor Davies and leverage my investigative and risk management expertise to support the organization’s clients,” said Wegner. “Throughout my career, I’ve prioritized collaboration and innovation in addressing complex challenges. I look forward to partnering with the PKF O’Connor Davies team to deliver exceptional service and advanced solutions to our clients’ regulatory needs.”
