James G. Cosgrove provides tax services to individuals, estates and trusts, flow-through entities, international businesses, multistate companies and entities requiring business valuations. With more than 40 years in public accounting, Jim has experience in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, utilities, service and distribution companies, medical practices, printing companies and not-for-profit organizations.
His extensive national and international tax knowledge includes estate and gift taxes, treaty interpretation and application, structuring cross-border transactions, minimizing worldwide tax burden, expatriate and inpatriate planning and international estate planning.
Jim has authored articles on tax and financial planning, and has conducted numerous training programs and seminars on a variety of topics including federal income taxation, state and local taxation, international tax, estate planning and valuation.
His broad range of valuation experience includes transfer tax issues, buy-sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions and litigation support. As a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Jim has served as an expert witness, a special master and a receiver in shareholder litigation cases.
