Don Melody has more than 24 years of experience in the broker-dealer and public accounting industries. He previously served as an inspections leader in the Broker-Dealer Firm (BDF) Inspection Program at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). His key activities as inspections leader included transforming the inspection approach, leading inspection teams, assessing auditor and examination procedures and reviewing comment forms.
Don also served as risk assessment and selections leader for the BDF Program, where he was responsible for selecting audit firms/broker-dealer audits for inspection and served as a liaison between BDF Program and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). During his 12-year tenure at the SEC, Don served as examination manager/branch chief of broker-dealer examinations in the Chicago regional office.
Most recently, Don served as the practice leader for a global advisory firm’s broker-dealer audit advisory service line where he provided Quality Management and Quality Control advisory services. Prior to that, he managed audits of broker-dealers, hedge funds and NFA funds.
