Joseph Parmegiani serves in the accounting and tax practice of the Firm. He specializes in estate and tax planning, including the review and analysis of wills and trusts and estate administration. Joseph helps his clients plan for the transfer of their assets through lifetime gifting techniques, inter vivos trusts and post-mortem planning in the most tax-efficient manner to achieve his client’s objectives and their eventual estate. He also analyzes estate and fiduciary income tax issues, including postmortem tax elections.
Joe advises clients and their families to navigate the practical issues that arise before and after death, as well as the legal and tax issues such as probate, the preparation of estate and fiduciary income tax returns, and Federal and State estate and fiduciary tax audits. He works with attorneys and court officers to prepare informal and formal court fiduciary accountings for contested probate proceedings in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and provides litigation support as well.
Joe serves as a trusted advisor to his clients and works within an international network of professionals that communicate overall lifetime financial planning and protection of domestic and foreign assets. Through this network, he advises clients of the legal, technical and practical aspects of their financial goals as well as potential changes in U.S. and foreign tax regimes.
