Sandy Weinberg is co-head of the State and Local Tax Practice, and leads the Tax Credit and Incentive Practice. He has more than 26 years of tax experience, including 18 spent with two Big Four accounting firms, where he served, in part, as a State Tax Director.
The majority of Sandy’s work revolves around state taxes, and he is considered a leading professional in state corporate tax matters including combined reporting, nexus, state tax provisions and acquisitions and restructurings. Sandy also has extensive experience in sales and use tax, personal income tax residency and unclaimed property matters. He has represented clients in state tax audits, conciliation conferences, appeals and litigation. Sandy has provided state tax consulting, and tax credit (Including research and development credit) services to clients across a broad range of industries.
Sandy has presented on state issues to various chapters of the Tax Executive Institute, the Westchester Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs and the Stamford Tax Association. He has written numerous articles on state taxes and tax credits.
A licensed tax attorney, Sandy previously founded the firm Sanford J. Weinberg, LLC.
