Stuart S. Stengel has nearly 50 years of extensive experience in public accounting. He serves as the Firm’s Director of Estate and Gift Taxation. He focuses primarily on gift and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and closely-held companies, but has also advised clients on topics ranging from corporate acquisitions to shareholder agreements, charitable and insurance trusts, family limited partnerships, grantor-retained annuity trusts, charitable giving, succession planning, estate freezes and wills.
Stuart has developed a specialty in valuing closely-held businesses in relation to sales of minority interests and for estate- and gift-tax purposes. He has experience testifying as an expert witness, and is skilled in handling complex tax audits and litigation.
Prior to joining PKF O’Connor Davies, Stuart was an Attorney in the Estate and Gift tax section of the Internal Revenue Service. He speaks frequently on estate and income tax planning matters and previously wrote a monthly column for a local business publication. Stuart is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in New York State and a Notary Public in the State of New York.
